Ondo Gov Poll: Osun Indigenous Group Supports Akeredolu
Osun state indigenes living in Ondo state have mobilized to support the election of Ondo Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu.
The election is scheduled for October 10.
Their reason for such support was down to the achievement recorded by the ruling government and appointment of some of them into sensitive positions.
Folarin Ayede, the spokesperson of the Osun State Indigenes Residing In Ondo State, made the statement when the group paid a courtesy visit to the APC Secretariat to register its support for the party in the coming gubernatorial election.

“Looking at the overall picture over the past years, all the past governors in Ondo State have something that always go against us, until Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu came on board and took the issues of nonindigenes residing in the state as a priority. He did appoint some of us into high positions in his government”
“We are mobilizing our members in the state for his re-election. For all, he has done and the much more he has promised to do for us is something to hold on to. We expect a record, high, a number of Indigenous voters, especially, from Osun State to vote in his favour at the Oct 10 poll,” he added.
‘Moral booster’
Responding, the chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, Engr Ade Adetimehin commended the Osun State indigenes who are members of APC for their commitment and loyalty to the party.

“Osun indigenes in our party are doing well, they are very faithful party people who always stand by the party. They have remained committed to the ideals and ideologies of the progressives,” the Chairman said.
While thanking his Osun State counterpart particularly, Adegboyega Famodun, for leading the delegation to the Secretariat, Adetimehin commended him for the visit as it will serve as a morale boost to the party in Ondo State.
He expressed his joy and satisfaction in the confirmation by the group that the Osun indigenes living in Ondo state will cast their votes for the party in the coming election.
Also speaking, Famodun, commended the operational system of the Ondo State APC towards the coming election and reiterated the need to be fervent and to remain committed to the course of rallying the party to a resounding victory.
He also condemned the idea of crisscrossing parties at election time for personal benefit, saying such people will definitely meet their Waterloo at the poll.
“The governor will be able to have enough time to complete all his lofty programmes for the state. For any Governor’s developmental programmes and policies to be impactful on the people, such Governor must spend nothing less than eight years in office,” Famodun opined.
