Osun Poly Students Burn Down Medical Center Over Colleague’s Death
— Students of Osun (Iree) Poly burn down school clinic after their colleague’s death.
Osun (Iree) Polytechnic closed down after some students burned down the medical center when their colleague lost his life.
Aminu Sheu Hammed, Higher National Diploma I student of the Department of Applied Chemistry slumped after submitting his exam paper.
He was immediately rushed to the hospital where the medical personnel were allegedly absent. He was then rushed to another hospital where he gave up.
Aminu Sheu was said to be observing the Ramadan fast and him slumping may be due to the lost of strength.
Speaking about the situation, the public relations officer of the school, Tope Abiola revealed that the school lost a lot of properties from building, drugs and ambulance to the act of the students.
He further said that it was untrue that medical personnel were absent. According to him, the medical staffs tried to resuscitate him but to no avail. Aminu Sheu was then rushed to the nearest hospital where he lost his life.
Following the situation, the institution has been closed down.
