The controversial pastor identified as Prophet Bushiri aged 35, and his wife Mary aged 37, were each granted R100,000 bail at the Pretoria Specialised Commercial Crimes Court on today, February 6th 2019.
The couple was known to have been nabbed on Friday, February 1st, 2019, over allegations of fraud, money-laundering and contravention of the Prevention of Organised Crime Act.
They both were on Monday, February 4th, remanded in prison for the aforementioned offences.
His followers, who were seen around Visage Street, went into wild celebration after getting the information that the couple had been granted bail.
Pastor Bushiri popularly known as Major 1 was present at the Pretoria Specialised Commercial Crimes Court today together with is supporters who cheered him all the way.
There were even strong reports that his faithful followers gathered outside the court to demand his release and also that all the charges against him be reverted.

When his diehard followers heard that bail was due for Pastor Bushiri, the supporters who gathered together in their thousands began to chant, dance, pray and even cry.
One individual stated in happiness that:
“Daddy is out, yay…,”
His followers have come out to say that they will anticipate Pastor Bushiri presence at a church service scheduled for later today as he is due to address them.
The Police’s crime-fighting unit known as the Hawks in a state that:
“The Hawks’ case against the pair concerns alleged offences of fraud, money-laundering and contravention of the Prevention of Organised Crime Act committed from 2015 in relation to exchange control regulations related to foreign currency in an amount of $1,147,200 [R13.4m].”
In 2018, it was reported that the Hawks was investigating pastor Bushiri for money-laundering after top officials of the church leaders claimed that Bushiri was sending an estimated R15m to Malawi, where he was born, every month.
The money was reported to have been transported out of South Africa in Pastor Bushiri’s private jet.
