On Sunday, a Kenyan pastor, Elijah Misiko stabbed his wife to death and then slit his own throat in front of the congregation.
Elijah Misiko who was an assistant pastor with the Ground for God’s Gospel Church in Mombasa, reportedly left his front row seat, approached his wife, Ann Mughoi, who was on the pulpit and stabbed her with one of the knives he hid in an envelope. Afterwards, he slitted his own throat.
Misiko reportedly stabbed his wife over church ownership. The police stated that a 17-page suicide note was found on Misiko. In it, he accused his wife of changing ownership of the church to her name, despite being founded by both of them.
It was also said that the couple had been fighting over the ownership of the church for a long time and they were already living separately before the gruesome incident occurred.
“She had been trying to stay away from the husband since the dispute over the ownership of the church began. They had even reported the matter to church leaders but they were unable to resolve the dispute,” the police reported.
