– Aside from this, the PDP also made other allegations against Okorocha which include transferring of Government properties

According to a recent report, the Peoples Democratic Party PDP in Imo State has made allegations against the outgoing Governor of the state, Rochas Okorocha.

The PDP in a statement made via the party chairman, Mr. Charles Ezekwem on Saturday at the state capital, Owerri, alleged that Gov. Rochas Okorocha withdrew the sum of N17 Billion within 3 days from banks for his personal use.

According to the statement released by the PDP, it claimed the withdrawals were made between Tuesday, March 12, 2019 and Thursday, March 14, 2019 from commercial banks which include, Unity Bank, Polaris Bank, Access Bank and Zenith Bank.

The party also alleged that Government property which include furniture and electronics at the Government House in Owerri, are being moved out to Ogboko, Ideato South, Rochas Okorochas’s home town.

Below is the statement released by the PDP,

In the last two days alone, Governor Okorocha and his cronies transferred ownership and re-registered more than 150 government vehicles to individuals.

Government property including furniture and electronics in Government House, Owerri, are being moved out to Ogboko, Ideato South, the governor’s country home.

“About 300 uninstalled transformers have been moved to the governor’s home in Ogboko.”It further alleged that there was ongoing mass employment and back-dating of employment with a view to creating problems for the incoming government.

“We are also aware of the rampant issuance of Certificates of Occupancy to family members and friends of the Okorocha family.”

The PDP won the state Governorship election in Imo State in the 2019 Governorship and State Assembly Election which took place on the 9th of March and saw Emeka Ihediora announced as the Governor-elect of the state.
