PDP Katsina rejects election result in the state over irregularities

– The PDP Katsina Chapter has rejected election result in the state over irregularities

– The state APC chapter however disclosed it is not aware of any irregularity 

Following the closure of the Katsina collation center, the party agent of the Peoples Democratic Party, Alh. Salisu Majigiri has rejected the election result of the state over irregularities.

According to the PDP party agent, the party rejected the election results over regularities which border on over voting, use of uncustomized electoral materials in some local government areas in the state which marred the electoral process.

Alh. Salisu  Majigiri in his statement claimed that the party raised so many objections during the collation of results but they were overruled.

He however disclosed the next line of action the party would follow which is to take “the issue to Abuja where the result is going to be collected. We have send a report to our National headquarters of the party that this is the way election is conducted in Katsina. We are not satisfied, we are rejecting the result entirely.”

In a counter statement, the All Progressive Congress, APC party agent, Ahmed Dangiwa disclosed that party is not aware of any irregularities during the election in the state but stressed that if the PDP has any contention, it should follow the right channels to address the issues.

According to an earlier report, it was revealed that the results from the 34 local government areas of Katsina state collated at the State Collation Centre for the Presidential election showed that the Presidential candidate of the APC’s President Muhammadu Buhari had 1,232,133 votes to win the presidential candidate of the PDP Atiku Abubakar who scored 308,056 votes.

In another report, with the result counted so far, Pres. Muhammadu Buhari is taking the lead.
