“Petition Brands to Drop Artistes Who Endorse Yahoo” – Gbemi
Popular Online-Air-Personality (OAP) Gbemi, has lend her voice to the ongoing controversy generated by artist Naira Marley’s recent statement justifying the activities of internet fraudsters, popularly referred to as ‘Yahoo Yahoo’.
Few days ago, singer Naira Marley came out to say that Yahoo boys were taking their revenge on white victims for their involvement in slave trade.
This statement has not gone down well with most Nigerians and OAP Gbemi in her reaction to the trending activity in the Nigerian society has urged Nigerians to petition the brands sponsoring these artistes who support internet fraudsters, to ensure their contract is terminated.
Gbemi revealed her stand on her Instagram page while responding and corroborating what a twitter user identified as @dikachim said.
The twitter user initially wrote:
Your faves are all supporting Yahoo but their endorsement deals are intact. From Infinix to Pepsi, they all support people that support Yahoo. Attack the brands that don’t mind having Yahoo endorsers endorse them.
