Postponed Election: Sen. Shehu Sanni call on Nigerians to give INEC chairman a second chance

– Sen. Shehu Sanni has called on Nigerians to give INEC chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu a second chance over postponed elections

– He stated that Nigerians should give him a second chance the same way they give their football clubs another chance despite defeat

Aftermath of the announcement of the postponement of 2019 General Election by the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, many Nigerians have called on the electoral body chairman to resign while other stated that they have lost confidence in INEC.

However, Nigerian senator, Shehu Sanni in a new statement have called on Nigerians to give INEC chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu a second chance.

Shehu Sanni in a statement disclosed that Nigerians can throw rotten eggs and tomatoes at the INEC Chair but they shouldn’t throw arrows or spears at him over the postponed Election.

The Senator in his statement further called for a second chance to be given to Prof Mahmood Yakubu.

Sen. Shehu Sanni in his statement on Twitter wrote, ‘You can throw rotten eggs and rotten tomatoes at the INEC chair out of anger, but don’t throw Spears or arrows at him because of the postponement.

Give him the second chance you used to give your English Premier league or Spanish clubs whenever they are thrashed.”

Apart from Shehu Sanni, the National Association of Nigerian Students NANS have also come to the defense of the INEC Chairman.

NANS in it statement disclosed that it is unfair to call for the resignation of Prof. Mahmood Yakubu over the postponed election.

The Body noted that it was not the first time an election will be postponed in Nigeria as a similar case had also happened in 2015 under Prof. Attaihru Jega.

According to INEC, the Presidential election will now hold on the 23rd of Feb.
