Pres. Buhari arrives at Maiduguri to travel to the UK on a private visit and return May 5th

– Pres. Muhammadu Buhari has arrived at the Borno State Capital, Maiduguri following his official visit to Lagos State yesterday

– The President is also scheduled to travel to the United Kingdom on a private visit and return on May 5

A new report has confirmed that Pres. Muhammadu Buhari, who left Abuja via the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, has arrived at the Borno State capital, Maiduguri this morning.

The President during his visit to the Northern state will commission projects embarked upon by the state government especially in the sectors of education, health car, and roads.

This official visit to Borno state comes after the President made a one-day official visit to Lagos State yesterday where he commissioned several projects embarked on by Gov. Akinwunmi Ambode led state government which include the Ayinke Maternity House, the Lagos Theater at Oregun, the new roads linking to the  Murtala Mohammed International Airport among others.

President Buhari in a remark yesterday stated that Gov. Ambode had performed satisfactorily.

Prior to Pres. Muhammadu Buhari’s arrival in Borno, the state Government had declared today a public holiday in honour of the president and also to allow the people of the state move out to welcome the President to the state.

Also in another statement released today, Pres. Buhari’s spokesperson, Femi Adeshina has made it known that the President will be traveling to the United Kingdom after the official visit to Borno.

Femi Adeshina disclosed that the President will not return to the country until May 5.

This latest development means the President will not be present during the May 1st Workers day celebration.

Also the Vice Pres. Yemi Osinbajo will be in charge of the affairs of the country pending the return of Pres. Muhammadu Buhari.
