Pres. Buhari – ‘Security is also the business of the traditional leaders’

Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari was in Gusau, Zamfara state capital today where he met with the traditional leaders in the state.

Pres. Buhari during his statement with the traditional leaders spoke about security in the state.

The President noted that Traditional leaders have to join in providing security.

He made it that security is also business of traditional leaders.

The President in his statement via his media aide, Garba Shehu, expressed his disappointment that it was the people close to some of the traditional leaders that were found to have a hand in such criminality, he however, charged the traditional rulers to intensify their moves to curb banditry and kidnapping in their communities.

According to a statement released by Garba Shehu it read, “We are determined to defend the nation and its people. We are disappointed with some of the things going on. You are responsible for the security of your neighbourhood.” “Being close to your people, you know them. You are still relevant. I am sorry this has extended to some of your families.”

Pres. Muhammadu Buhari in his statement applauded the Nigerian security agencies in their moves to put an end to kidnapping and banditry.

The Pres. also spoke about his bid to return to office for a second term as he disclosed it would be his fifth and final term running as President.

In another report, the Nigerian Presidential election is scheduled to take place on Saturday, 16th of Feb.

Nigerians have till tomorrow to pick up their Permanent Voters Cards PVC as iDONSABI.COM earlier reported that INEC has extended the deadline for the collection of PVC to 11th of Feb.
