– Bashir Ahmad revealed that the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Walter Onnoghen has been suspended
– He revealed that the suspension was based on the order of Code of Conduct Tribunal
According to a new report via Pres. Muhammadu Buhari’s new media assistant, Bashir Ahmad, he has made it known that the CJN Walter Onnoghen has been suspended while Muhammed Tanko from Bauchi State has been appointed as the acting CJN.
According to the statement, Chief Justice of Nigeria, Walter Onnoghen, was suspended based on order from the Code of Conduct Tribunal.
Bashir Ahmad via his social media handle wrote, “JUST IN: President Muhammad Buhari suspends the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) Walter Samuel Nkanu Onnoghen and appoints Mr. Ibrahim Tanko Muhammed as acting CJN.”
In fact according to report from the suspended CJN spokesman, Awassam Bassey, the Hon CJN is supposed to “swear in members of the 2019 National Assembly, Governorship & State Assembly Election Petition Tribunals tomorrow (Saturday 26th January 2019).”
