Presidential Aide, Femi Adesina Denies Stopping Buhari from Cancelling SARS

The Senior Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina has denied prevailing on President Muhammadu Buhari from scrapping Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).

This is following some allegations flying over the social media that the Aide stopped the president from scrapping the police unit.

It could be recalled that the Inspector of Police (IGP), Mohammed Adamu visited the President at Aso Rock on Friday night. The Police boos gave the president an update on the move made by the force to reform the unit.

Meanwhile, the IGP recently announced the scrapping of the unit some minutes ago,

“In denying the rumour, Adesina took to his Twitter page and wrote: “A false story designed to malign me is making the rounds. It says the President was to have scrapped SARS on Friday but was prevailed on by me not to do so, as government cannot bow to ‘Twitter warriors.’ Evil. Fake. A concoction from the very pit of hell.”
