Paris Saint Germain have clinched their first silverware of the 2019/2020 campaign after coming from behind to win the French Super Cup  thanks to a 2-1 win over Rennes on Saturday, August 3, Shenzhen Universiade Sports Centre.

The Super Cup encounter saw summer signings in Herrera and Pablo carried over to the new season.

Rennes who remain the reigning French Cup champions found the net first just inside of 13 minutes after Benjamin Bourigeaud met a cross from Adrien Hunou.

However, soon after, precisely in the 31st minute, Ligue 1 champions, PSG came within inches of claiming a leveller through defender Thilo Kehrer, but his headed effort got over the crossbar as the French giants went in search of a needed equalizer.

Top Ligue 1 scorer, Kylian Mbappe and Edison Cavani also missed goalscoring chances to take the game level just before the break.

However, after the break, Mbappe took things level in the 61st minute firing home from close range following Sarabia’s decent first-time pass.
