Salah And Mane End Liverpool Loosing Streak In Game Against Bournemouth

The duo of Mohammed Salah and Sadio Mane combined to drag Liverpool past Bournemouth after Callum Wilson gave the Cherries an early just lead just inside of nine minutes.

The Reds put an end to their two-game loosing streak after posting a 2-1 win over Eddie Howe’s men. They are now 25 points clear at the top of the table, though, second-placed Manchester City have played two games fewer.

Mohammed Salah scored his 70th premier league goal in 100 appearances to level matters before Sadio Mane secured the winner in the 33rd minute.

Despite kicking off the encounter on the back foot, the Cherries controversially got the first goal against the run of play when Wilson who initially appeared to have fouled Joe Gomez tucked in a cross from Jefferson Lerma.

The visitors were close to doubling their lead in the 13th minute but Ake’s header was saved by Adrian who palmed it to the bar.

Some three minutes later, Liverpool had the chance to grab the equalizer but Firmino’s shot was tamed by Ramsdale following a through-ball by right-back, Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Nine minutes later, Liverpool did get their breakthrough. Mane dispossessed Jack Simpson and had his misplaced pass met by Salah who tucked the ball into the bottom corner.

Eight minutes later, Liverpool got the lead they had toiled for and most definitely deserved. Virgil Van Dijk after intercepting a pass from Ryan Fraser sent Mane through on goal. The former Southampton man then slotted home past a helpless Ramsdale.

After an equally matched second forty-five minutes, the visitors could have levelled matters but in a terrific show of heroism, James Milner cleared the ball off the line. What a clearance that was. The midfielder who walked in Anfield as a free agent has been exceptional since his switch to the Merseyside outfit and this might just cap what has been an exceptional experience with the Premier league toppers.
