Sarri Lauds Ronaldo After Portuguese Notched Seventh Goal In Only Four Games

Maurizio Sarri is full of praise for Juventus forward, Cristiano Ronaldo who has once again found his form. The Portuguese has now notched seven goals in four games in the year 2020, helping his side pull clear at the summit of the Serie A table.

However, the former Chelsea boss iterated that the team must be better than past seasons if they are to maintain any hopes of retaining the Serie A title.

The Serie A giants crushed Roma 3-1 in the Copa Italias, with Ronaldo getting in on the party. The Portugal International opened the scoring before Rodrigo Bentancur and Leonardo Bonucci added to the tally to compound Roma woes before the interval.

It was a fifth win for the Biaconeris who have now opened five points over second-placed Inter Milan in that time.

Sarri saw the winning mentality of Ronaldo in play again but admitted that it was important the Italian giants improved if they are to top this team’s fierce title challengers, Inter Milan and Lazio.

“Winning is becoming normal,” Sarri said at a post-match news conference. “I’m happy for the team.

“But we don’t have to look at the numbers because it will be more difficult this year. We will certainly have to do better than previous years if we want to be competitive in the league.”
