Schalke 04 Vs Manchester City UCL 20 February Preview

Manchester City will continue their quest for a quadruple this term when they travel to far away Germany where they will lock horns with Schalke 04.

The English Champions are atop the Premier League at the moment, have qualified for the last-eight of the FA Competition and are in the finals of the EFL Cup. They would stop at nothing to get at least the treble including the Champions League by season’s end.

Schalke 04

The German side finished reasonably strong from Group D having beaten Galatasaray to the second position on the log by a differential of seven points.

That said, Schalke 04 who finished runners-up in the Bundesliga last season have struggled for form this season having managed only 22 points in 27 games. How awful for a Champions League team.

The German side would however be hopeful that they take the visitors by surprise, brandishing their defence in front of the Citizens attackers. Indeed, Schalke conceded the second least number of goals in the group stages of the competition.

Manchester City

The Citizens have won 12 of their last 13 games with their last defeat dating back to back-to-back losses over Christmas.

Since then, they have towered over every English side and have topped the league – though having played a game ahead of second-placed Liverpool – despite being behind the Reds by seven points at the start of the year.

In-form striker, Sergio Aguero has netted two hatricks on the bounce with the team looking strong in all of its departments.

They are favourites coming into the game and would be hoping that they stroll past Schalke 04.
