– Sen. Dino Melaye has stressed that he respects and obeys the Bible more than the Nigerian constitution
– He also called on Nigerians to speak up in the face of injustice
Nigerian Senator representing Kogi West, Dino Melaye, in a latest statement on Sunday hinted that he respects and obeys the Bible more the Nigerian constitution.
Sen. Dino Meleaye made this known at Gloryland Baptist Church, Lugbe, Abuja during his speech at the one year remembrance of late Mrs. Janet Kikelomo Gbadebo, the wife of the Deputy Editor of Leadership Newspaper, Bode Gbadebo.
Melaye in his statement said, “I want to say by the grace of God that the Church of God in Nigeria will continue to march forward. As an individual I respect the Bible than the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and I will first obey the word of God before I obey the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
He, however, added that he knew God would take over the affairs of the country.
Sen. Dino Melaye in his advice to Nigerians said, “we must all come out of our hiding, we must conquer fear because the Bible say He has not given us the spirit of fear but He has given us the spirit of boldness and that of a sound mind.”
He called on Nigerians not to keep silent but to speak out the truth in the face of injustice.
“I encourage us to practice this philosophy of mine that in an unjust society silence is a crime. When you see what is evil say it because if you say the truth you will die, if you lie you will die. So, it is better to say the truth and die,” Dino Melaye added.
