The lawmaker representing Abia-South Senatorial District, Enyinnaya Abaribe is a topic of discussion in the Twitter community.
The Minority leader of the 9th Senate was challenging the approval of President Muhammadu Buhari’s $22.79b loan request to fund critical infrastructure projects in the country.
Challenging the approval on the floor of the Assembly, the lawmaker said the input of the minority was not allowed in the scheme of things before the approval was granted.
Expressing his displeasure, he said those that will repay the loan were not allowed to ask critical questions on the projects the said fund would be used for.
He is being praised by Twitter users for standing his ground and expressing his displeasure over the decision that the Senate President, Ahmed Lawa claimed was unanimous.
I commend Senator Abaribe for at least adding an opposing voice to some decisions in the red chamber, and not wobbling his head at every matter in consent.

Nigeria is borrowing more money despite the Abacha loots being recovered.
The Senate is not standing for the people they are representing but for their pockets.
Senator Abaribe is a hero for standing up for the future generations.

Senator Abaribe is truly a gift to the voiceless Nigerians in today’s #RubberStampNASS.

Senator Abaribe is the minority leader in the Senate and in any democracy, the minority will have their say but the majority will have their way.

Unanimously borrowed 8 trillion Naira, hope you know any incoming administration is coming to pay debts?
Are you aware how much debt Nigeria is now owing under this Government,
senator Abaribe said we are the ones to pay back, did he lie? Continue to fry us, we are your dodo.? https://t.co/mcqk18rJMp

The only good thing that has happened to Abia state in recent years must be Senator Abaribe. Still wondering why he hasn’t been a Governor yet… oh… you need to be corrupt to be that.

Senator Abaribe seems to be the only man in the house….the only voice in the wilderness…..our modern day Ejijah. Posterity will remember him

In today’s Senate, Senator Abaribe seems to be the only opposition while other 108 Senators belong to the ruling party.
— Premier (@SodiqTade) March 6, 2020
There are 109 Senators from all over the country, even if Senator Abaribe and all his party men are against it and on the other hand the president and all his party men are for it, the Aye must serve it because democracy is a game of number.
So politically it’s unanimous ?? https://t.co/Lu7EqFlKdh

The people of Abia state thank Senator Abaribe for his quality representation.
Now we pray that the good lord will help us wake Senator T.A Orji from the deep sleep he fell into since 2015 pic.twitter.com/Mkn4BCkIm7

Buhari’s $22.7bn loan: Watch how senator Abaribe was tackling the senate president Ahmed Lawan over this request, for not giving them chance to debate on it before the approval.
I keep saying it and will not stop saying it that this 9thSenate President is nothing but disaster? pic.twitter.com/cd8EDnm8jG
