Simeone Rubbishes Joao Felix And Ronaldo Comparisons
Joao Felix has said he wants to emulate his Portugal International teammate and Juventus talisman, Cristiano Ronaldo but Atletico Madrid manager, Diego Simeone thinks the Portuguese starlet doesn’t possess similarities with Ronaldo.
The 19 year old became the most expensive teenager in world football when he made a switch to the Wanda Metropolitano from Benfica for a fee of €136 million which lags only behind the fees paid for Neymar, Mbappe and Philippe Coutinho by PSG and Barcelona respectively.
The attacker has enjoyed a wonderful preseason under Simeone’s Atletico Madrid finding the back of the net with a long range effort and providing an assist in the Spanish giant’s game against MLS All-Stars side in Orlando.
“No, I don’t think Joao Felix is like Cristiano,” Simeone said.

The Atletico gaffer praised Joao Felix maintaining that he was good going forward and has a good vision and that the club would be willing to help him reach his potentials.
“The reality is that he has a good game to observe. I’ve enjoyed watching him since he arrived. He has vision and good control going forward, which speaks well for his age and how he plays and how he reads the game.
“We are going to add situations to help him grow and become a better and stronger player in the way everyone thinks he will.
Simeone said he was pleased with the way the team was working and was particularly impressed with the new guys including Felix and Mario Hermoso.
“I’m really pleased with all the new players. Felipe is growing, [Mario] Hermoso the same. To play all the new players together helps us to be able to get ready for what is coming, which is going to be tough.
“The team is working well. We’ve been together every day for more than 20 days. The new guys are making a big effort to catch on to what we want.”
