Nigerian singer, Simi has tendered an apology to the LGTBQ community after a statement she made a while back on her Youtube channel.
During her show, “Stoopid Sessions” on Youtube, Simi and the guests she invited started a conversation about homosexuality and they seemed to come to a conclusion that it’s “unnatural.”
Many had called out the singer pointing out that her statement encourages discrimination and violence against the LGTBQ community especially since she’s a public figure.
Months after the incident, Simi has now shared an apology on Twitter. She confessed she didn’t initially understand the anger but now she does.
”As a woman, I understand discrimination, but I realize I may not understand the unique ways the LgTBG community experiences it. I am learning but I’m sorry that this time, I did so at your expense,” part of the apology reads.
