Southampton Vs Tottenham EPL 09 March Preview

Tottenham make a trip to St. Mary’s Southampton with the aim of cementing their winning form which restarted in their game against Borussia Dortmund in the UEFA Champions League.

Southampton

The Saints have improved in recent plays under the reins of Ralph Hasenhuttl including an incredible display at Manchester United where they later slumped to a 3-2 defeat.

But for all their rejuvenation, they have only managed five points in their last six games. Southampton are only two points above the drop zone now but they will be hopeful that they can come away with a point or at least trouble Tottenham and somehow remain in the top-flight come season’s end.

However, they will need to improve defensively to force the kind of results they want to achieve having kept only one clean sheet in their last 10 outings.

Tottenham

The Lilywhites have to look over their shoulders towards the chasing pack after a return of just one point from their last three games placed them only three points above Manchester United.

Talk of their run of form, they were lucky to come away with a point against Arsenal with Aubameyang failing to score a spotkick.

Disappointing losses to Burnley and Chelsea took their hands off the Premier League title that already had the hands of Manchester City and Liverpool on it.

However, the win against Dortmund showed that Mauricio Pochettino and his men have dealt away with complacency and are now ultimately back to winning ways.
