Sowore: Am Not Surprised As Buhari’s Friends Are Not Safe in Nigeria Anymore – Femi Fani-Kayode

Former Aviation minister, Femi Fani-Kayode has said he is never surprised about the refusal of the Department of State Service (DSS0 to release convener of RevolutionNow protest, Omoyele Sowore.

This is a reaction to yesterday’s protest by a group of Civil society organizations at the headquarters of the security outfit, calling for the release of the human rights activist.

Sowore is still being detained by DSS after being granted bail by the Abuja Federal High Court and he has met the bail conditions.

“Sad but not surprised that @YeleSowore has not been released by @MBuhari. What some of you helped rig into power in 2015/2019 was a monsterous system. They control EVERYTHING now. They persecuted others &you urged them on. Today not even their friends are safe from their tyranny.”

Also lending her voice to the incident where DSS teargassed armless protesters, shot live rounds and used pepper spray to chase them away, Remi Sonaiya, a former presidential aspirant of the KOWA Party wonders what it would cost Buhari free Sowore.

“Dear President @MBuhari , good morning. A new day is an opportunity for a fresh perspective on things. Deep within you, is it right for citizens to be shot at? If you freed Mr. Sowore now, what would it detract from you? What could it add to you? Please reconsider. Have a good day,” she tweeted.
