Sowore: Come And Carry Your N1m, We Won’t Compromise, Adeyanju Tells Government Sympathisers Who Offered Them N1m Bribe

  • Adeyanju says the money will be used as legal cost if the money is not picked up.

Human rights activist, Deji Adeyanju, has claimed that a coalition of civil society groups under the aegis of Concerned Nigerians, was offered N1m by government sympathisers not to hold today’s sit out against the continued detention of Omoyele Sowore.

Speaking at the protest metres away from the Department of State Service (DSS) Headquarters at Aso Drive, Adeyanju said the human rights groups were offered one million Naira at gunpoint with a promise for more for them not to hold the rally.

“Those who gave us this money know themselves, and we also remember those who gave us the money.

“We will not compromise, if those who gave us the money don’t come and collect it back today, we will give it to Femi Falana SAN to defray Sowore’s legal costs,” he said.

The protesters are currently conducting their protest peacefully under the watchful eyes of DSS operatives and soldiers from the nearby Guards Brigade.

Meanwhile, while the interview with Adeyanju was ongoing, protesters were dispersed by DSS official with Pepper Spray and live rounds shot into the air.

It could be recalled that Sowore had been granted bail and the bail conditions have been met. But DSS has refused to release him.
