Suspected Bandits Burn Down Police Station, Kills Two Policemen and Two Residents In Kaduna State

No fewer than four people, two policemen and also two residents were murdered when suspected bandits burnt down a police station in Kakangi village, Gwari Local Government area of Kaduna state this past weekend.

According to witnesses around the area, the suspected gunmen got to the community on motorbikes at about 5:00 am, fully armed with AK-47, and began shooting sporadically.

However, those who sustained injuries during the cause of the shooting in Kakangi village, Gwari Local government of Kaduna state, have been taken to the hospital for prompt treatment to be carried out on them.

Ibrahim Nagwari identified as the Chairman of the Birnin Gwari Vanguard for Security and Good Governance (BVSGG), also went with the account of the eyewitness.

Ibrahim Nagwari stressed that the security situation in the community had worsened, owing to activities of the bandits in the state.

Ibrahim Nagwari said in a statement:

“Security situation has worsened due to armed banditry and kidnapping. Many communities particularly along Birnin-Gwari Funtua had deserted their homes and taken refuge in Birnin-Gwari and elsewhere.”
