Teenager Stabs DJ To Death In Ibadan

A church was set on fire by angry youths after a 26-year-old man was stabbed to death while trying his possible best to settle a fight in Agbongbo Olunloyo, Ibadan, the Oyo State capital on Friday, 1st of February, 2019.

Sources close to the scene gathered that the incident occurred following a fight that ensued between some boys in front of a shop belonging to the elder brother of the deceased.

The deceased who is identified as Raji Adisa is known to be a Disc Jockey (DJ) by profession, made series of attempt to settle the dispute in order to prevent the occurrence of further trouble in the area.

According to sources in the area, the deceased, Raji Adisa, was allegedly stabbed with a sharp object around his neck area by one of the boys, identified as Raphel, a 15-year-old son of a pastor in the same area.

It was also gathered that the residents of the area where the incident occurred, gave the offender a hot pursuit alongside the deceased despite his severe injury before he died on the way to the hospital.

As a result of the death of Raji Adisa, some of his friends raided Raphel’s (the accused stabber) house the following day in search for him but the suspect was nowhere to be found.

The angry youths in the area then met only the father of Raphel who is a pastor as they took full advantage of the opportunity to set the father’s church ablaze.

It was also gathered that the young boys who are allegedly responsible for the offence of stabbing Raji Adisa to death are between the age of 15 to 17 years.

According to reports close to the family, the deceased was meant to turn 27 this month before his death.
