The 2019/2020 UCL Draw Revealed

The grind of the UCL group stages is all over and the hopefuls of the elite competition will be hopeful they get a favourable tie ahead of the last-16 knockout rounds.

All Premier League sides (Manchester City, Tottenham, Liverpool and Chelsea) pinned their spots in the last-16, with the Laliga managing four representatives as well (Barcelona, Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid and Valencia).

The German Bundesliga is represented by Bayern Munich, RB Leipzig and Dortmund while the Italian Serie A is represented by Juventus, Napoli and Atalanta.

Paris Saint Germain remain the only representatives of the French Ligue 1 in the knockout rounds.

The draws which took place at UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland featured eight group winners placed in the seeded pot and eight runners-up placed in the unseeded pot.

The flying quarter of England’s top-flight will be aiming to battle for the title which they hope to remain in England. Jurgen Klopp and his men will be hoping to keep the title for the second year straight, having won last time out, thanks to a 2-0 win to North London club, Tottenham.

Chelsea will be tested by a fierce Bayern Munich side who have Robert Lewandowski firing on all cylinders. The Pole currently leads the race for this season’s Golden Boot having found the net in 18 occasions and has scored the most goals in the UCL this term.

Pep Guardiola will be getting his side ready for a trip to the Santiago Bernabeu where they are poised to lock horns with Real Madrid.

Jurgen Klopp, though, nursing the thoughts of winning a second straight UCL title would need to overcome a test from Atletico Madrid first.

Of all English teams, Tottenham have the relatively easiest tie, something Jose Mourinho would be glad about. However, he would be wary of the threat that RB Leipzig pose in the final third and would be on the lookout for the best combination to thwart that attacking threat.
