There Was Explosion in Government House, But No Casualty – Ekiti Government

The Ekiti State Government has confirmed that there was an explosion on Saturday morning at the Explosives Ordnance Disposal (EOD) office in Ado Ekiti.

There was palpable tension in the environment after a loud bang was heard about 7:40 am as people scampered for safety.

There was a heavy smoke oozing out of the government house after the explosion, causing minor damages to the old Governor’s office, ceilings of buildings, which were ripped off.

The authority has confirmed that there was no casualty in the incident urging people to go about their normal business.

“An explosion was reported earlier this morning at the Explosives Ordnance Disposal (EOD) office in Ado Ekiti. An initial on-the-spot assessment confirms that there are no casualties and the area is secured with no further threats, “Aare Muyiwa Olumilua, Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation stated in a statement this morning.

“Members of the public are advised to go about their normal duties,” he added.
