Twitter Users Dragged Yvonne Nelson Over Her Comments On #SexForGrades
Ghanaian actress, Yvonne Nelson was blasted by some Twitter users earlier after she implied that the way female students dress are the reason they are sexually harassed and exploited by lecturers.
“Sex for grades! Sex for jobs! Sex for everything in our part of the world! Your brains dont matter here. It’s the covered parts they want, oh wait, these parts arent covered anymore…its free on social media. Will it ever change??” she wrote.
This is coming after BBC Africa released a documentary by Kiki Mordi on sexual harassment by lecturers in West Africa universities focusing on Nigeria and Ghana.

This is so embarrassing because you had bikini pictures on your IG and a child out of wedlock which are things these men will use to shame you even though it’s nothing to be ashamed about but you’re here doing respectability politics like it will protect you ???? https://t.co/o2IplVslAe

And she’s wrong if it was just the covered parts they wanted they could get it for free from anywhere
They want to exert their power that’s why they’re targeting people who look to them as teachers and employers
