The management of the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital (UITH) has suspended a professor of medicine, Prof A. K. Salami for his “unethical conduct in the admission, management and eventual release of the corpse” of the patient who died of COVID-19 at the hospital on Thursday.

This was stated by Fisayo Soyombo, an investigative journalist via his Twitter page. Soyombo had initially unveiled the case before it was confirmed by the Kwara state government.

He also stated that Prof Abdullahi Yusuf Dasylva,  who is the CMD of the hospital also has a case to answer too. This is because the two recently announced cases in Kwara state had contacts with other medical personnel who didn’t know that they had the virus.
