Real Madrid President, Florentino Perez has described his new signing, Eden Hazard as one of the world’s best players as he was presented at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Perez told Hazard he was home as he was presented to supporters of the club on Thursday evening.

The Belgian completed an £88 million switch from Chelsea last week after months of speculations linking him with a move to the Spanish capital and precisely to the Bernabeu.

Hazard is widely expected to fit into the shoes of Ronaldo who left for Juventus last summer.

Real Madrid have suffered a terrible campaign that saw them crash out of the Champions League to a youthful Ajax team and finish third on the Laloga standings.

“We are Real Madrid, we want new triumphs,” Perez said. “This club is hungry for victory and resistance to defeat. We’re going to have a squad of great players and in front of it, Zinedine Zidane will be there.

“Today and now we welcome one of the best players in the world, Eden Hazard. Eden, you’re where you wanted to be. Today the dream of your life is fulfilled.”

He continued by saying that he knew that Madrid had always been a dream for the winger and that because of his quality and work his dreams have turned out true.

Perez went on to thank Chelsea who according to him ‘collaborated to achieve your [Hazard] dream.’

Hazard was set to be on a free transfer from next summer and he had repeatedly made his desire to move to Real Madrid known.

The 28 year old addressed fans and wellwishers of the club following Perez’s introduction in French, explaining that his Spanish wasn’t yet fluent.

Chelsea have been left in a dicey situation where they would be unable to sign a replacement for the Belgian if the FIFA imposed transfer ban fails to be lifted.
