– The United States of America has congratulated Nigeria for the conduct of a peaceful Presidential election
– The US also reached out to all presidential candidates for their peaceful participation
Micheal Pompeo, who is the United States of America secretary of state, has sent a congratulatory message to Nigeria over the conduct of the 2019 Presidential election which took place last month, 23rd of Feb.
The United States secretary of state in his statement applauded Nigerians, who participated peacefully in the 2019 Presidential and National Assembly election.
Micheal Pompeo in a statement which was made public by the Special Adviser to the President Muhammadu Buhari on Media and Publicity, Femi Adeshina today in Abuja, also condemned those who carried out violence act that harmed Nigerians and the electoral process.
The Secretary of State revealed that the assessments of international and domestic observer missions affirmed the overall credibility of the election, despite the localized violence and irregularities in the electoral process.
Michael Pompeo in his statement also congratulated Pres. Muhammadu Buhari as well as all other presidential candidates of different political parties for their peaceful participation in the polls.
He declared that the United States remain committed to working with the country.

‘‘We also congratulate all the other candidates for their peaceful participation in the electoral process. We call on all Nigerians to ensure successful state elections next week. Going forward, the United States remains committed to working together with Nigeria to achieve greater peace and prosperity for both our nations.”
The 2019 Presidential election is gone with Pres. Buhari declared as the winner.
INEC will now focus on the state election which includes the Governorship election and the state house of assemblies.
