Chelsea travel to Hungary on Thursday to face Vidi in a bid to maintain their perfect start to this season’s Europa League. The Blues go into the game knowing they have already qualified for the group stages, having won all five of their games.

Vidi have had a rough Europa League so far and they sit third in Group L, level on points with second place BATE Borisov. The result is out of Vidi’s hands, who need to win and hope BATE Borisov drop points to PAOK Salonika in order to progress to the next stage.

But to defeat a team like Chelsea, who have a 100 percent record will take something more like a miracle. With losses to Chelsea and PAOK, Vidi find themselves in a tight spot a d will know they have to find a way to fight and hope.

Vidi currently have a full team with no injuries. Selection should be pretty easy but getting the job done is another headache entirely.

Chelsea

Coach Maurizio Sarri has so far made use of fringe players in order to keep his squad fresh and it is likely several key players will be rested for the match, seeing as dead rubber.

The Stamford Bridge outfit lit up the premier league at the weekend by defeating Man City, who were unbeaten so far to allow Liverpool climb into first place ahead of the Manchester side.

The Blues will wish they could skip this match due to the fact that they have qualified already and have a very busy december ahead with 5 matches still to come before the year ends.

Maurizio Sarri will likely rest many of the first team players for their trip and will likely play a second string team.

Mateo Kovacic will more than likely not feature after suffering an slight thigh injury in Saturday’s victory over Manchester City. ​Marcos Alonso is also doubtful, but it is likely Emerson Palmieri that will start at left back.  Several youngsters including Ethan Ampadu and Callum Hudson-Odoi may feature ahead of first team options.
