We Are Working With International Partner in Securing Cyberspace of Nigeria – NITDA DG

The Director-General of National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Dr Isa Patanmi has said the agency is working together with international partners such as Microsoft in securing the cyberspace of Nigeria.

Patanmi stated this on Monday during the official meeting held with the Committee of Chief Information Security Officers of Nigerian Banks Auditors at the Agency’s Corporate Head Office, Abuja.

Also, the ISO External Auditors were at the agency on a working visit by the Committee of ISO to brief NITDA about its activities and explore collaboration in the areas of Cyber Security, Data Security and Privacy.

The Chief Information Technology Officer of  Nigeria in his address to the Committee said the agency is regulating the IT Sector in Nigeria in order to support development.

In a related development, NITDA had warned all federal public institutions, IT service providers to the Federal Government and all data management firms doing business in Nigeria against hosting the country’s data abroad.

The agency in a statement stated that all agencies and private firms hosting data must comply strictly with regulatory guidelines for Nigerian Content Development in ICT.

According to the agency, the guidelines provided a framework for repatriation and hosting of all Nigerian Government data within the country.
