West Ham Vs Huddersfield EPL Review 16 March

West Ham scored two goals in the final seven minutes to deny basement club, Huddersfield Town any chances of recording a rare win.

Before this match, Huddersfield were doomed for Championship football but two goals from Karlan Grant took West Ham by surprise and had Manuel Pellegrini continuously kicking the air in utmost frustration.

West Ham got the first goal of the encounter via the ever-reliant Mark Noble from the penalty spot after Aaron Howe unnecessarily tripped Manuel Lanzini to give away a silly penalty with 15 minutes on the clock.

The Hammers would have thought themselves in the driving seat but only two minutes later, Huddersfield got the equalizer in what was their first away goal since Boxing Day.

The Hammers defence once again looked vulnerable when Huddersfield took the lead into the break with Karlan Grant getting his first for the evening.

Having been turned on by their own support, Manuel Pellegrini and his men would have the safe hands of Lukasz Fabianski to thank for keeping out a long range effort from Bacuna.

However, they got behind once more when Terence Kongolo released Grant with a fine through ball. Grant had just one thing to do and he did so in style. The striker spent through Diop before unleashing a magnificent 25-yard strike into the top right hand corner of West Ham’s goal.

Pellegrini desperately looking for a turnaround of fortunes on the pitch of play sent in Lucas Perez and Chicharito to turn the game on its head and matters at least improved for his side.

With an hour and fifteen minutes gone, Ogbonna paved way for an interesting finale when he met an Aaron Creswell’ cross to get the second for his side.

On 83 minutes, Chicharito was left unmarked in the box and connected with a Samir Nasri’s cross to get the third for the Hammers.

Chicharito was called into action once more and he delivered with aplomb. The super sub was on hand to glance in Felipe Anderson’s cross in the first minute of added time.
