Why Ambode will be absent at Sanwo-Olu formal inauguration

– Ambode stated that Sanwo-Olu should be allowed to be the star of his inauguration

According to a report, there are indications that the Outgoing Governor of Lagos state, Akinwunmi Ambode will not be present at the inauguration of his successor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu taking place today.

The report made it known Ambode hinted that he would not be present at the formal inauguration of new Governor of the state, he stated that  Babajide Sanwo-Olu deserves to enjoy his historical day without having him share the glory with the new Governor.

According to the report, Akinwunmi Ambode disclosed in a short statement released via his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Habib Aruna that he has formally handed over to the new administration at the State House yesterday.

The statement read, “I have already formally handed over reigns of power in the State to the new Governor in a most cordial and convivial ceremony at the State House yesterday. The formal inauguration should have Mr. Sanwo-Olu as the star of the day. I don’t think that glory should be shared with him by my presence.”

Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode also disclosed that he has had a quality private moment with his successor and he has the assurance that with the prayers, cooperation and collective support of all Lagosians, the new administration will succeed in the excellent tradition of progressive governance which Lagos State is known for.

Ambode was only able to use four years in office which is the first in 20 years in Lagos state.

In another report, it was disclosed that all is now set for the inauguration of Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his deputy Governor, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat.
