Why Dapo Abiodun and other Ogun APC chieftains were absent during Pres. Buhari’s visit

– Ogun Governor-elect, Dapo Abiodun and other APC chieftains were absent during President Buhari’s visit

– Pres. Buhari was in Ogun state on Saturday to commission some projects carried out by Gov. Ibikunle Amosu

According to the reports, Pres. Muhammadu Buhari was in Ogun State yesterday to commission some projects carried out by the Outgoing Governor, Ibikunle Amosu.

However, the reports revealed that the Ogun state Governor-elect, Prince Dapo Abiodun and some Chieftains of the All Progressive Congress APC in the state were absent during the Presidential visit.

A report made it known that the reason behind the absence of the Governor-elect and APC Chieftains was because they were not invited.

According to the party caretaker committee spokesperson, Tunde Oladunjoye, he disclosed that Prince Dapo Abiodun and other party leaders were not invited.

He stated that the reason maybe because Ibikunle Amosu is not technically a member of the APC as he has been suspended by the party.

Oladunjoye said, “The leaders were not invited either via text messages, phone calls or any other means of communication.

“Perhaps, the governor did that because, technically, he is not a member of the APC; he is on suspension. The President came as the President of Nigeria relating with a state governor. And you can’t see a notable APC leader either from within or outside the state at the event.”

Also in another statement, Prince Dapo Abiodun’s media aide, Remmy Hassan, stated that the governor-elect was not invited to the event, which was why he was absent.

He said, “Abiodun was apparently not invited to the event.”

Ibikunle Amosu is expected to hand over to Dapo Abiodun as the new Governor of Ogun state in less than a week.
