Wolverhampton Wanderers Vs Arsenal EPL 24 April Preview

Arsenal will be after a quick response when they make a trip to Wolverhampton Wanderers for their Premier League fixture on Wednesday evening. The Gunners suffered a 3-2 shock home defeat to Crystal Palace, failing to capitalize on slip-ups by other teams in the topsy-turvy top four race.

Wolverhampton Wanderers

Wolves have now won only one of their last five matches and their season is in danger of spiraling out. Since that win at Molineux against Manchester United, they have crashed out of the FA Cup semis in grueling fashion to Watford and have equally lost ground in their battle for a seventh place finish.

Wherever they end up on the log, this season would still be regarded as a spectacular and successful one for Nuno and his men. No other team has indeed bruised the noses of the established elite teams in England – the Big Six – so badly.

They have defeated Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham and would like to take it a bit further with a win at home to Arsenal.

Losing out on a place in the FA finals means that their focus is now on finishing seventh in the league, the backdoor to European football. They have their home form to speak for them having won six of their last Premier League home games.

Arsenal

Emery would now regret the heavy scaled changes he made to his team who played Crystal Palace some days ago.

That loss brought an end to the Gunners 10 matches winning run. Indeed, it was the decision to use Mustafi in the defensive setup that caused Emery great pain.

Arsenal seemed like they had recovered from their defensive problems, keeping a clean sheet in six of their last seven matches, only to be shown that they might still have a thing or two to worry about.

Arsenal would have to prioritize one competition over one another if they don’t want to eventually lose out on both fronts with their semifinals tie sandwiched between games against Leicester, Brighton and Burnley.

Emery is aware that the most realistic way of qualifying for next season’s Champions League competition is a top four finish and he would be looking to make sure of that.
