Wolverhampton Wanderers

Wolves started the season well with back to back wins and drawing Manchester City, Manchester United and Arsenal since their return to the top flight. More recently, Nuno’s team were praised for their efforts in almost salvaging a draw from a 3-0 deficit against Tottenham Hotspur at the beginning of last month.

But that has now been forgotten due to the recent abysmal form of the team in the last 6 matches. Nuno Espirito Santo who guided the team from promotion is now bring criticised by some sections of fans.

Another defeat against Chelsea will further anger the fans and the atmosphere around the stadium might grow more hostile to the players and their embattled manager.

Chelsea

Chelsea have been high flyers in the league but their most recent form has been below par to be honest. They have only been able to amass 7 points from a possible 12 with their last loss – against Tottenham Hotspur ending in a crushing 3-1 defeat.

Maurizio Sarri will back his side to emerge victorious against an under-performing Wolves, but the manner of the performance will be of equal importance with Manchester City the visitors to Stamford Bridge on Saturday evening.

More importantly, Chelsea head into an important stage in the season. This could result in Sarri feeling the need to place more focus on rotating his players, with the former Napoli boss having handed starts to just 13 outfield players in the Premier League so far.

Players like Ruben Loftus Cheek, Emerson Palmieri and Calum Hudson -Odoi could be given more chances as the busy period approaches.

Mateo Kovacic and Marcos Alonso are major doubts due to injury concerns. Ross Barkley could feature if he is fit. Willian is likely to return for Pedro in attack, although Olivier Giroud may keep his place ahead of Alvaro Morata.
