1. Ivanka Trump to Help Select World Bank Boss

US President Donald Trump’s daughter, Ivanka Trump, has been asked to help pick a candidate to run the World Bank, following Jim Yong Kim decision to step down a White House official confirmed.

Iyanka Trump worked with the outgoing president, Jim Yong Kim, over the past two years, jointly launching a $16th ($1.25bn) women’s entrepreneurship fund.

The United States has always chosen the World Bank leaders because they have controlling voting interest in the institution.

2. Lactalis Baby Milk Order Product Recall Over Salmonella Fears

Lactalis has ordered a massive recall of its global product on fears that it might be causing salmonella.

Lactalis is one of the world’s baby milk producers. In fact it is one of the biggest dairy groups in the world. It is also produced under different brand names.

3. Game of Thrones Reveal Date for Final Season

HBO has revealed the date for the premier of the first episode of last season of Game of Thrones.

It took nearly two years and will air on 15 April at 2am and 9pm in the UK.

4. Celine Dion Takes Down Song with R Kelly

Veteran singer Celine Dion has pulled down the hit song she collaborated with R. Kelly from all streaming services, following the sexual Scandal that rocks R&B star R. Kelly.

The song ‘I’m Your Angel’ was one of the biggest songs in the 1990s as it reached #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and stayed there for 6 weeks.

Another Musician, Lady Gaga had also done same with her song with R Kelly.

R Kelly has been under fire recently following a documentary of his series of sexual abuse on women and young girls.

5. Gabon President Returns After Long Medical Trip Abroad

President Ali Bongo has returned home to Gabon after spending three months receiving treatment abroad for a stroke he had in October.

He reportedly appointed a new Cabinet which he is meant to swear in officially according to constitution.

Last week, a small military group had taken over a state radio station in an attempted coup.

The Bongo family has led Gabon for more than 50 years. The 59-year-old Ali Bongo replaced his father, Omar, upon his death in 2009.

He was accused of fraud when He won re-election in 2016 with just 6,000 votes.

6. China’s Plant Sprouts on the Moon

Cotton seeds housed in a sealed container by the Chinese have began to sprout in what is the first ever scientific experiment to take place on the moon.

Reports say, if it continues to thrive, the world would have the first ever leaves on the moon.

The Chinese National Space Administration said their space travelers took with them rapeseed, potato and arabidopsis seeds, as well as yeast, fruit fly eggs, air and water.

They want to know if an ecosystem can be created that can be able to sustain life.

7. New AM580 Chemical Discovered, Can Tackle HOST of Infectious Diseases

Hong Kong based scientist have made a major scientific breakthrough in discovering a chemical called AM580 which is capable of slowing down the spread of diseases.

According to research, the chemical is able to interrupt the life cycles of viruses.

Although further researches are still going on, with this, diseases such as bird flu, Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) might become a thing of the permanent past.

8. Petr Cech Annouces Retirement After 20 Years of Goal Stopping

Former Chelsea and Czech Republic goal keeper Petr Cech has announced his retirement from football after 20 years on the pitch.

Petr Czech held spells at Arsenal and Chelsea, spending up to 15 years in the premier league.

9.Former Ivory Coast President, Laurent Gbagbo Acquitted of War Crimes

International Criminal Court has acquitted Ivory Coast’s former president Laurent Gbagbo of war crimes.

Gbagbo faced four counts of crimes against humanity, including murder, rape and persecution after refusing to leave power following his defeat in the country’s election of 2011.

About 3 000 people lost their lives during that period.

10. Protesters in Sudan Call for an End to Al-Bashir’ 30-Year Rule

Sudanese are not happy over President Bashir’s desire to seek another term. Hundreds of people have taken to the streets to protest his 30 years in power.

At least 40 people have died with hundreds about injured following a crackdown on protesters by the authorities.

Al-Bashir is seeking for the amendment of the constitution to allow him run for another term.
