Controversial lawmaker, Dino Melaye is in the news again. The lawmaker will have to slug it out with Smart Adeyemi for the Kogi West Senatorial seat in the rerun election scheduled for November 16 with the governorship poll.

Recall that election tribunal and the Appeal Court canceled the election that returned Melatye elected and ordered fresh poll.

Melaye, who had boasted that he would defeat Smart Adeyemi, who is the Director-General of Governor Yahaya Bello Campaign again, describing him as his political wife.

Engineer Musa Wada, the candidate of the PDP will square up against Governor Yahaya Bello for the number one seat in the state in the gubernatorial poll.

Adeyemi has also boasted of ousting the former lawmaker from the seat. The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) bega campaign in Kogi yesterday.

The video showed Melaye in his jeep coming from the campaign ground, waving to the delighted supporters who had one time created a little traffic to hail him.


In the video he posted on his Twitter page, Mekaye wrote: “God I give you the glory.”

The area boys were heard in the video chanting Dino, Tuale, baba agbalagba (I hail you the big man). The later turned his name into a chorus singing Bello must go.

He has been at loggerhead with Governor Yahaya Bello for some time now, forcing him to leave the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the PDP. Watch the video below.


With the election set to come up in three weeks, will the vocal senator return to the National Assembly who Adeyemi and Bello will have the last laugh? time will tell.
