You Will Live to Regret Congratulating Buhari, Fani-Kayode Slams CAN
– Fani-Kayode describes the visit of CAN to Presidential Villa as a moment of betrayal
– He described Buhari as a desperate and wicked tyrant that has so much Christian blood on his hands.
Former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode has described the moment the leadership of the Christian Association of Nigeria congratulate President Muhammadu Buhari on his reelection as a moment of shame and betrayal.
Fani-Kayode, a stalwart of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) said they will live to regret such decision.
Recall that the body led by its president, Dr Samson Ayorinde were at the Presidential Villa yesterday to congratulate Buhari and make certain demands.
Ayorinde during his remark stressed that the organisation had the success of this administration at heart, and welcomed the President’s pledge to run an inclusive government in a speech shortly after his re-election. He also noted that the gesture would give all in the country a sense of belonging.
Fani-Kayode took to his Twitter handle to say this: “I love CAN and I have always had the deepest respect for its leadership but this was a moment of shame and betrayal. They will live to regret congratulating a desperate and wicked tyrant that has so much Christian blood on his hands, that has nothing but contempt for the Church that has imprisoned and slaughtered his perceived enemies and that has orchestrated and effected the biggest rigging exercise in the history of our nation.
“Attempting to encourage and legitimise such a tyrant and giving him a stamp of approval makes absolutely no sense to me,” he tweeted.
