‘Liverpool Clash With Leicester Decisive In Title Race’ – Alisson

Liverpool goalkeeper, Alisson Becker has highlighted the importance of Liverpool’s encounter with Leicester City in the Premier League title race.

The Reds clash with the Foxes on Boxing Day could turn out to be a decisive moment as the Merseyside club chase down the Premier League title that has eluded them in a number of years now.

After lifting the Club World Cup in Qatar on Sunday  Liverpool are poised to return to domestic action on Thursday as they hold on to their Premier League advantage over Leicester and Manchester City even more.

Liverpool are comfortably 10 points ahead of Leicester City having played one less than Brendan Rodgers’ men.

The Reds failed to reduce the deficit when they lost 3-1 to Manchester City on Saturday with Liverpool now in a commanding 11-point lead over City.

The Foxes however have a chance to close this points gap when they host the Reds on their home ground where they haven’t lost this term.

That said, Liverpool are unbeaten in 34 games and have 16 of their last 17 games. The title is theirs to lose as this now looks like their perfect chance to end a 30-year wait for a Premier League title.

Alisson has urged his teammates to remain focused when they take a trip to the King Power Stadium to lock horns with Leicester City.

“There’s a big moment and decisive moment arriving for us in the Premier League and you need to stay focused on the moment,” the Liverpool goalie told ESPN.  “You cannot think on the long [term].

“You just need to look for what you have in front of you to not miss the moment, to not miss the chances that you have. If you want to win the Premier League, you need to try to win every game and I think against Leicester will be the same.

“They have a great team. They are in a good moment and we just need to give our best on the pitch to try to beat them.”
