Beyoncé To Be Honored With The Humanitarian Award At The 2020 BET Awards

The 2020 BET Awards is going down this weekend, and some special moments from the upcoming show are being announced. One of these announcements is that Beyoncé will be honored with the Humanitarian Award this year.

According to Variety, she will be honored for her BeyGOOD initiative, as well as her contributions to education through her “Formation Scholarships,” an initiative to help and encourage young women in college.

In the past, Beyoncé  has also teamed up with UNICEF to create “BeyGood4Burundi,” which helps to bring safe water and sanitation to Burundi.

Beyoncé has also been doing her part to help out communities across the country during the COVID-19 pandemic. She teamed up with Twitter CEO, Jack Dorsey to provide $6 million in funding to organizations that provide mental and wellness health services.

She was also on the remix to Megan Thee Stallion’s hit single “Savage,” with the proceeds from the song will benefit Bread of Life’s Houston COVID-19 relief efforts.

Beyoncé also helped to launch a COVID-19 testing initiative in her hometown of Houston and she recently dropped her new single “Black Parade,” which is also in conjunction with a new initiative to help support small black-owned businesses.
