Kate Henshaw also known as Kate Henshaw-Nuttal is a Nigerian actress, fitness enthusiast, TV personality, politician and social advocate. She’s one of the renowned actresses who has contributed immensely to the growth and success of Nollywood. She is known for her romantic roles in movies.
Early life and background of Kate Henshaw
Born 19 July, 1971 in Cross River, Nigeria, Kate is the oldest of four children. She had her primary and secondary education in Lagos and Calabar respectively. She spent one year reading remedial studies at the University of Calabar before proceeding to School of Medical Lab Science, LUTH (Lagos University Teaching Hospital) to study Medical Microbiology. Kate Henshaw worked at the Bauchi State General hospital as a medical laboratory scientist and special attendant. She had always love acting so she made her transition from healthcare to acting.
Her Acting Career
In 1993, Kate auditioned for the lead role in the movie When the Sun Sets and was handed the role. This was her acting debut. This brought her to limelight, establishing her as a promising upcoming actress. Thus far, Kate has featured in over 100 movies. She has produced documentary for the Lagos state tax advert and Akwa Ibom state government. She is regarded as the ageless queen of Nollywood. The actress who is in her late forties look so young for her age. The versatile screen diva who plays different roles have been in the movie industry for over 2 decades.
In 2011, she was honored by the Nigerian Federal Government as a Member of the Order of the Federal Republic (MFR) which happens to be the highest award and honor given to a celebrity in Nigeria who has contributed greatly to the economic growth and development of the country through entertainment.

In 2015, Kate developed interest in politics and decided to represent her people (Calabar Municipal/Odukpani Federal Constituency) at the Federal House of Representatives under the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
Unfortunately, she lost at the primary level. However, later same year, Kate was appointed by the Governor of Cross River State – Benedict Ayade as the Special Adviser, Liaison, Lagos.

Kate Henshaw had one of the longest celebrity marriages in Nigeria. She was once married to Roderick James Nuttal. They were together for twelve years before getting divorced in 2011. The actress has a daughter, Gabrielle Nuttall with her ex-husband. Roderick Nuttal is the Managing Director of Ledrop Nigeria Ltd. He has since remarried after the divorce.
There were speculations that the union was dissolved on grounds of infidelity by Roderick. It was rumoured that Rod was making out with his secretary Angela Gordon. Kate has been reported to have dated Executive Governor of Rivers State, Rotimi Amaechi, former Governor of Cross River State, Donald Duke and comedian, Bright Okpocha popularly known as Basketmouth amongst others. Little is known about the cause of divorce, but the ex-lovers have both cited irreconcilable differences. The divorce has since made her a better person. The celebrity single mum has kept her daughter off the public scene. She wants her to choose her own path when she grows up.
