1. Buhari Reveals What the FG Will Do With Properties Seized from Corrupt Politicians

President Buhari has revealed what the FG will do with the properties and companies seized from corrupt politicians.

He said the properties and companies would be sold and the money ploughed into the national treasury.

He added that he wouldn’t want his successors to return such seized properties to their looters as they did after he was overthrown in the military coup of 1983.

2. You Cannot Shave a Man’s Head in His Absence – Atiku

Former Vice President and presidential candidate of the PDP Atiku Abubakar, withdrew from the presidential debate yesterday after arriving at the venue.

He lambasted President Muhammadu Buhari of the APC for not showing up for the debate and insisted that there was no need for him to participate in the debate since the man he came for, did not deem it fit to attend.

In a statement he released, he maintained that it is a presidential debate he came for and not a candidacy debate.

He said he cannot challenge or question an administration whose principal is not present to defend his policies.

He concluded by saying, “You Cannot Shave a Man’s Head in His Absence”.

3. SANs Vow to Challenge FGN Over Onnoghen, Usoro Trials

The Body of Senior Advocates of Nigeria, BOSAN has vowed to challenge the Federal Government over the trial of the Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN, Justice Walter Onnoghen and the President of Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, Paul Usoro, SAN.

The body held an emergency meeting at the conference room of Nigeria Law School in Lagos.

The meeting which started by 10:00am had in attendance over 50 Senior Advocates of Nigeria.

A committee was constituted to draft and issue a communiqué on their position in the unwarranted trials of their learned colleagues.

4. Are You Contesting to Be the President of the Federal Republic of Buhari – Buhari’s Aide

Buhari’s aide, Bashir Ahmad, in a post responding to a tweet by Atiku, wondered why the PDP Presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar would boycott the debate because President Buhari was not in attendance.

According to Ahmad, the debate was not for the PDP Atiku to question President Buhari but for him, Atiku to tell Nigerians what he had to offer.

In the Aide’s words, “Thought it is for you to tell Nigerians what you have to offer, or are you contesting to be the President of the Federal Republic of Buhari?”

5. PDP Rejects INEC’s Move to Stall Elections in Rivers State on Account of APC

The PDP has unanimously rejected deliberations by the INEC to stall elections in Rivers State.

The move to postpone elections in Rivers State was on account of the APC party which currently do not have candidates in the elections.

This move under deliberations by the INEC was communicated by the National Commissioner and Chairman of Information and Voter Education Committee, Festus Okoye.

6. Bank PHB, APC is Telling Cock and Bull Story – Atiku

The former Vice President and PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar has dismissed as cock and bull story, the allegation by the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed on Friday.

Lai Mohammed had earlier on Friday announced that Atiku had a case to answer when he returns from the United States over the collapse of Bank PHB.

In a statement issued yesterday by a Special Assistant to Atiku, Phrank Shaibu said the government should bury its head in shame as their plot to stop his principal from being granted an American Visa had failed.

He implied that Lai Mohammed’s allegation was a product of a carryover vexation at the failed plot to stop his Master from traveling to the United States, a move they said would mean that the international community is solidly behind Atiku.

7. Buhari, Atiku Has Announced Their Exit from Governance – Ezekwesili

The three Presidential candidates (Ezekwesili, Durotoye and Moghalu) that attended the Presidential debate organized on Saturday took turns to lambast the APC President Buhari and PDP Presidential Candidate, Atiku over their avoidable absence at the debate.

The debate moderator, Mark Sugar, had asked the three candidates to react to the absence of the two frontline candidates.

Ezekwesili started by saying Buhari and Atiku had announced their exit from the Presidential race by their action.

She said, “I am not surprised they are not here. They have simply announced their exit from the governance”.

8. Senate Raises Alarm over Security Lapses in NASS

The Senate has raised alarm over some security defects in the National Assembly.

The National Assembly urged its management to urgently beef up security in the National Assembly.

It gave the charge while adopting a motion sponsored by Lagos Central Senator, Oluremi Tinubu, who officially reported a burglary case in her office to the Senate.

The burglary incident was first reported on January 9 by the Senator’s aide, Nifemi Aje.

Tinubu in her motion said she no longer feels safe in her office. She urged the Senate to investigate the burglary and also replace her lost items.

9. No Plan to Arrest CJN Onnoghen – Presidency

The Nigerian presidency through the media adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari, Femi Adesina has debunked reports that there is any plan to arrest the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Walter Onnoghen and frame three other Supreme Court Justices.

According to Adesina, it was fake news being peddled by the Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP) to set the judiciary against the executive arm in an attempt to cause confusion in the forthcoming elections.

However, Adesina added that the case against the CJN and three others are being handled by the courts in the normal way, as is expected in a democratic society like ours. He said the Presidency has not, and will certainly not, interfere in the process.

10. My Brother Asiwaju Isn’t Dead, He’s in Coma

The brother to Michael Asiwaju, the founder of Asiwaju Royal

Furniture who was reported to have raped a woman in his car in May 2017 has said that people should stop spreading false information and that his brother, Asiwaju is not dead.

According to him, his brother is in comma and not dead.

Earlier Saturday morning it was reported that a man checked into the hotel with the name, Prince Moses and commited suicide.

However, preliminary investigations by the Police revealed that the man was the owner of a business known as Asiwaju Royal Furniture.

The said Michael Asiwaju was accused of several cases of rape which had gone viral on twitter earlier this year.
