Two Suspects Arrested For The Attack On Two Female Police Officers In Ogun

Two armed robbery suspects met their Waterloo on Wednesday, at Ifo town in Ogun State, when they were arrested after attacking two women, unknown to them to be female police officers.

According to the state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, the women were driving a car belonging to one of them from Ifo going to Sango Ota, but on getting to Iyana-Ilogbo area, the two suspects suddenly blocked the car with their motorcycle and held them at gunpoint.

It was further disclosed that after collecting the women’s bags and phones, the suspects were about to zoom off on their motorcycle when the two women officers engaged then in a fight and raised the alarm.


ADC Members Defect To PDP In Ogun

No fewer than 1,000 members of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Yewa North Local Government Area of Ogun State have defected from the party and pledged their allegiance to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Addressing the people, the state Chairman, Engr. Adebayo Dayo, urged them to support the PDP to restore the state’s lost glory.


Court Remands 3 Alleged Cultists Docked For Culpable Homicide

AN Ilorin Senior Magistrates’ Court on Thursday ordered the remand of three persons docked for alleged culpable homicide and criminal conspiracy.

The accused persons: Taiwo Osein, 25, Toba Oyedepo, 36, and Abubakar Muhammed, 40, are facing charges bordering on criminal conspiracy, culpable homicide, being members of the secret cult and unlawful possession of firearms.

Be Ready To Accept Defeat, PDP Tells Buhari

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has admonished President Muhammadu Buhari to be prepared to accept defeat if he loses Saturday’s presidential election.

According to National Publicity Secretary of PDP, Kola Ologbondiyan, who made this declaration at a press conference in Abuja on Thursday, observed that President Buhari has lost his political strongholds across the country.


Elections: Lagos Leads With 5,531,389 PVCs Collected

Lagos State is taking the lead in the number of the Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) collected by registered voters in Nigeria, according to the figures released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), on Thursday.

Earlier, INEC had released the total number of Nigerian registered voters to be 84,004,084, out of which it said 72,775,585 of them collected their PVCs.

But out of the 72,775,585, collected, Lagos voters collected 5,531,389 PVCs from the 6,570,291 registered voters in the state.


Buhari Does Not Love Nigerians ― Saraki

National leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki, has criticised President Muhammadu Buhari for directing security agents to deal ruthlessly with ballot box snatchers during the general elections.

Speaking at a PDP youth rally in Ilorin on Thursday, where about 10,000 decampees were received by the leaders of the party, Saraki said that a president who loves his people would not have ordered soldiers to kill them.

Ogun PDP Suspends Reuben Abati

The crisis rocking the Ogun Sate chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has deepened with the State Working Committee (SWC) of the party suspending thirty-nine members for various anti-party activities.

The suspended members were said to have been found guilty of various offences ranging from factionalisation of the party against the mainstream leadership of Prince Uche Secondus-led National Working Committee, making statements in the media capable of bringing the party to disrepute and organisation and participation in unlawful congresses, among many others.

The committee had taken similar disciplinary action against the governorship candidate recognized by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Senator Buruji Kashamu, Chief Bayo Dayo, Segun Seriki and Semiu Sodipo.


Kidnappers Invade Plapoly, Abduct 12 Years Old Boy

Plateau State Polytechnic was thrown into confusion and pandemonium on Wednesday following invasion of the institution by a gang of kidnappers who abducted a 12 years old, Kim Dido and whisked him away to an unknown destination.

A source close to the main campus of the Polytechnic at Barrakin Ladi disclosed that the gun wielded kidnappers numbering about 7 stormed the institution at exactly 8:00 pm when the entire family of Reverend Dido were relaxing after a day work.

President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed astonishment at the huge amount of foreign currency flooding the country intended to influence the outcome of the general elections beginning on Saturday.

Malam Garba Shehu, the President’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, in a statement in Abuja on Thursday, said Buhari raised the alarm during the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting on Wednesday.


APC Chieftain Spending N10m To Disrupt Elections In Rivers ― Wike

Rivers State governor Nyesom Wike has accused a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress(APC) in Rivers State to have spent a whopping N10million to hire thugs to attack voters and disrupt the voting exercise in Ikwerre Local Government Area of the state.

The governor reminded security agencies in the state that the Federal Government had reassured Nigerians that it would not interfere in the process and tasked the security agencies to remain neutral and deal decisively with anyone who attempts to compromise the integrity of the ballot box.
