Donald Duke insists he is still the Presidential candidate of the SDP

– Donald Duke made it known that he is still the SDP Presidential Candidate

– He said he would present himself during the Feb 16th Presidential Poll

The Presidential Candidate of the Social Democratic Party SDP, Donald Duke in a new statement today disclosed that he remains the Presidential candidate of the party.

He disclosed that he would present himself as the presidential candidate of the SDP in the forthcoming presidential election slated to take place on the 16th of Feb, 2019.

This new statement from Donald Duke comes after the Social Democratic Party SDP had yesterday announced it withdrawal and gone ahead to support the All Progressive Congress APC Presidential candidate, Pres. Muhammadu Buhari.

Donald Duke in his statement said, “Regardless and for the avoidance of doubt, I Donald Duke, remain on the ballot and the candidate of the SDP as recognized by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).”

He disclosed that saga in the party is as a result of an aspirant who lost during the party primary election in 2018.

Donald Duke said, “This unfortunate saga is as a result of an aspirant who lost at the party primaries on Oct. 6, 2018, fair and square, does not query the conduct of the primaries but rather resorts to bigotry, querying my suitability to contest for the presidency on grounds that I come from the wrong part of the country.”

The SDP Presidential candidate disclosed that the office of President doesn’t belong to a party or zone.

He said, “The Federal Court of Appeal has put this matter to rest. The office of president does not belong to any party and therefore not for a party to zone.”

Donald Duke in his statement disclosed he is running for President to provide credible alternative for the electorate.
