Girona Vs Barcelona Laliga 27 January Preview

Barcelona will be willing to extend their winning streak in the Laliga to eight when they face Catalan rivals, Girona, at the Estadi Montilivi. Barcelona who lead second placed Atletico Madrid by five points will be looking to ensure another win considering they haven’t lost to their Catalan counterpart in their last four encounters.

Girona

Although, Girona have lost the same number of matches as the Galacticos this season, they still sit 12th-place on the log after recording five wins, nine draws and six defeats.

That said, Girona have not won any game since November in a winless stretch that has seen them suffer three defeats and salvage a draw in four matches.

Their backline has been particularly terrible and look to be out of sync shipping in 10 goals in their last three games.

This could spell trouble against a high scoring team like the Blaugranas.

Barcelona

Atletico Madrid seem to be the only to pose title challengers this season with the Catalan giants extending the lead over Real Madrid to 10points. Barcelona have been quite incredible in the league strolling past Leganes in their last league match with a convincing 3-1 victory.

That said, Barcelona will be coming off the back of a 2-0 defeat to Sevilla in the Copa del Rey. Although, a strong case may be made for the team considering the team that was fielded and the absence of Lionel Messi in the line-up. It however exposes the inability of the team to play well without the presence of the Argentine talisman.

They will be glad to have him for this one.
