Hope, the boy that was rescued a couple of years ago by a Danish worker after being branded a “wizard” will be representing his school in a 100m race.

Danish worker, Anja Ringgren Loven had rescued Hope from an interior village in Akwa Ibom State where he was stigmatized and maltreated because he was accused of being a little wizard.

Few years after, the boy who looked like a shadow of a skeleton is so chubby that no one would believe he was the same child branded a wizard by his community.

Hope’s benefactor, Anja Ringgren Loven took to her Facebook page to share an update on the boy’s life.

She revealed that he would be representing his school in their upcoming inter house sports competition.

According to Anja, Hope’s school is organising an inter-house sport and he has been selected to represent one of the teams in an 100 meters race.

She wrote:

From being branded a witch, abandoned, rejected and stigmatized to representing his school in 100 meters race. Today, Hope is taking part in his school’s Inter-House Sport Festival and of course he will be representing his team in the 100 meters race. See my little nugget he’s got swag
