With the Lagos Theatre Festival set to take place between the 4th of March and 10th of March, 2019. Nollywood actress, Lala Akindoju is set to be producing and directing the beautiful play dubbed Lavender in what would be her first trial at producing and directing.
The play is written by Ademola Soares, produced and directed by our amiable Lala Akindoju and is brought together my Make It Happen Productions. Other casts to feature in the play include: Kehinde Bankole, Oludara Egerton-Shyngle and Deyemi Okanlawon among others.
The Lagos Theatre Festival kicked off in the year 2013 and was organized by the United Kingdom’s cultural organization with the aim of providing a platform for movie makers to develop audience for their theatre productions.
According to the Festival Spokesperson
“This year’s programme is designed to ensure that the festival offers unforgettable experiences to all stakeholders – audience, producers, performers, volunteers and everyone that will come in contact with the festival in any way.”
The theme for this year’s edition is ‘Imagine the Unimaginable’ and will be holding at the Freedom Park Broad Street, Lagos Island among other venues.

The 2018 edition was tagged ‘Theatre in Unconventional Spaces’ and took place in 12 different locations across Lagos State. The show was filled with colour and life with Mary the storyteller opening the floor.
Her story focused on freedom and change, which are essential components of a society’s growth. The fringe section had over 80 shows and the curated over 20 to the thrilling view of the audience.
The festival also played hosts to workshops and trainings on theatre and its related jobs; music, variety shows and visual arts.
Lala Akindoju, 30, is married to Chef Fregz with real name, Gbubemi Fregene. The actress has featured in a host of movies like SuruL’ere, Fifty among others.
